Congratulations to everyone who has received their A Level results and is now off to University! You are probably in a whirlwind of excitement but as well as the pots and pans, there are some important things that you should not miss off your packing list. Read on for top tips of what to take with you to University, whether you are starting your adventure at Hartpury College or the University of Gloucestershire.
Check Your Tenancy Agreement
First of all check what is included in your tenancy agreement, as you don’t want to be spending money on things that you won’t need. And anything you do buy doesn’t need to be expensive. You will be in a shared house so things are likely to end up accidentally damaged or lost.
Check the List
The list of everything you might need could be exhaustive – from clothing and chargers to pillow cases and pens. Check out this list for some things to consider. There are bound to be items on here you haven’t thought of!
Important Documents
Don’t forget the important stuff such as Passport, Driving Licence, NHS details and Insurance docs. Make sure you also have your university acceptance letter and accommodation paperwork ready for when you arrive.
Whilst you need the practical stuff such as your laptop and towels, don’t forget to include home comforts to complete your room and help you feel at home. Your favourite cushions and photos are just some things we would recommend to ease the transition into your new student house. Once you are set up in your new student home with familiar items around you will be settled in no time.
Remember – don’t take too much stuff. There will be shops nearby, so when you arrive at your student digs you can see how much space you have. It might be cheaper and easier to pool anything needed with your housemates.
